The GIS EssentialsTM - Basic virtual workshop is designed to provide you with an expeditious introduction to GIS fundamentals.

The GIS EssentialsTM - Advanced virtual workshop is designed to provide you with a quick introduction to more advanced GIS topics.

Key workshop proficiencies

üProjecting Shapefiles
üWorking with attribute tables
üEditing layers
üSpatial queries 
üCreating geodatabases
üUsing geo-processing tools
üDownloading geography files from the Census
 
Prerequisites

Familiarity with ArcGIS is required.

Structure for all workshops

Each workshop is hands-on, half-day virtual class with live teaching by instructor Gina Clemmer. Students will be given a dial in number for the class and a code for screen sharing to view the instructor's desktop.

Participants will be actively engaged in the classroom work by participating in skill building on their computers for a substantial portion of the class time.

About your instructor

Gina Clemmer, author of The GIS 20: Essential Skills, Third Edition (ESRI Press), will teach these expert workshops.

Gina holds a master's degree in urban planning.  She has educated thousands of professionals, through New Urban Research's workshops, how to successfully utilize ArcGIS. Gina is a recognized expert in data analysis and presentation.
